Questioning what our purpose is in this life can come as a completely terrifying and life-altering thing for us. For God, however, the answer is simple: “You were made for My glory. Your purpose in life is to know Me and to make My name known.”
Each of you wear a great badge of honor on your heart and sleeve when you live with the understanding of your Maker and who you are because of what’s been done for you. Glory is brought to our sweet Daddy’s name when you choose to accept it and claim it fearlessly, unashamedly and at the top of your lungs. Everything you say and do should point the world around you to the One above you.
Here me when I say that greeting at church is just as important as taking the time to get to know someone at work. Preparing snacks for the kids on Sunday is just as important as preparing lunch for your kids each morning before school. Leading worship at church is just as important as living a life of worship on a daily basis. Preaching the Word to a body of believers is just as important as sharing God’s truths with a single individual. My point here is this: Any act of Kingdom work is equally important in the eyes of God.
Your role in God’s story is permanent, not temporary; it’s found in the present, not the past or the future. What you are doing right now matters so much to Him, whether or not it feels like it to you.
You may be in a position right now where you are desperately clinging to the name of Jesus. You may hate your job, be in a dry season, or feel like something is missing all around. Regardless, know that when you choose to make yourself available to God, He will use you in ways beyond your own understanding.
You may be the only dose of Jesus that someone ever gets to see. Don’t forget this. Whoever you are and wherever you are, someone is in need of the love of Christ you have to offer because of your faith and life in Him!
Choose to give God your best- always. Choose to do everything for Him- always.
