1 Chronicles 4:10
In today’s passage we see that Jabez prayed and asked the Lord to enlarge his border. He wanted God to give him more influence than he already had.
As you pray for more in your life, remember that the more God gives you, the more responsibility that will be given to you as well. As you wait for the Lord to supply you with a job that pays better or a car that’s more reliable, don’t just pray that you’ll obtain these things and that’s it. Pray that God will strengthen you to use what He’s blessed you with for His glory.
As you pray for a better job or a promotion, make plans to become a better steward of your money, so that you can be in a position to give more to ministries and nonprofits that you’re passionate about. If God blesses you with a new car, start thinking about how you can use it for His glory. Think about the people you’ll be able to give rides to church or coworkers, who don’t know Jesus, that you’ll be able to carpool with.
God doesn’t just bless us so that we can keep what He’s given us to ourselves. He wants us to use what He’s given us for His glory.
So as you pray for blessings, pray for challenges, too. Pray for big opportunities that require big faith. God wants to give you more, but He wants more from you, too!
