I lost my Dad while I was running my Masters programme in England, and it was like the world had come crashing in on me and the question of where my father had gone immediately struck me. Amidst my pain, I asked if my Father had eventually handed his life back to Christ, and when my mum confirmed that to me, I was joyous in my spirit even though I was in pain. I don’t know what you may be going through, but because you are in Christ Jesus everything is working together for your good. It may stand that you have been in that situation for a long time, you may have been praying and it seems like nothing is changing, or it may even seem to be getting worse, but don’t ever forget that everything you go through works together for your good. You are loved by God, He created you to show forth His glory, His love, His mercy, His grace towards humanity. And you are the vessel He is using to reach out to the lost, using your story to be a blessing to others. Imagine you giving up on God? Then there wouldn’t be any testimony to share. When the disciples of Jesus saw a blind man and asked Jesus who had sinned, the man or his parents? Jesus answered them, “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him” (John 9: 1-3 KJV). Never see your challenge as a punishment; it is so your God be made manifest in you, and also as a means of growing your faith in Him. When I got back to England from Nigeria after my Dad’s burial, I had bills to pay and had no idea where the money would come from, but God used my church, my pastor, and some friends to help me until I was able to start receiving money from home again. How God would handle your issue shouldn’t be your concern, but just trust Him to bring you out of every negative situation you find yourself in. Trust in Him with all your heart and see how victorious you will come out!
