1 Corinthians 6:20
D A I L Y D E V O
Being confident in your own skin is so much more than just feeling good about your body. When you know you have faith in Christ, and you know you’re not just floating through life, and that there is actually a purpose for your life, you’ll come to know that this is also true when it comes to your body.
In 1 Corinthians 6 the Apostle Paul reminds the church that our bodies are sacred, a place where the Holy Spirit dwells inside of us. This physical part of us is more than just a being, it belongs to the One who created it, because we belong to Him. The reason why this is important is because when you know that you have been set apart, and you know that there’s so much more to you than the way your body is shaped, the color of your hair or your skin, or the shape of your nose and your eyes, you start to see yourself in a completely different way. You start see yourself the way your Heavenly Father sees you. You’re no longer focused on your outer appearance and earthly things because you know that your worth as a woman is rooted so much deeper… in Christ!
Far too many women don’t know that the way to overcome insecurity or a lack of confidence isn’t by “putting yourself out there” and trying to project confidence to other people. It’s not about being super successful or proving your critics wrong. The way you overcome any inner battle that you’re faced with is by inviting Jesus to come to your rescue. It’s by knowing that when you’re safe in His arms, you will desire to honor Him in every aspect of your life. Make the choice to honor God with every part of who you are, even your body. Embrace the fact that you have been set free from the bondage of what the world deems as valuable or good looking or interesting. You’re walking in the light now and because of Jesus, you are free to do that!
