2 Corinthians 5:16-17
D A I L Y D E V O
This month, we’ve talked a lot about what it means to be confident in God’s ability over our own abilities. Wherever you feel like you are on your journey of understanding this, know that even when you have a good understanding, there’s someone you know who has yet to know this. All around us, there are people who have yet to experience what it means to be confident in Christ. They have yet to have someone tell them that just because they’re working at a fast food restaurant, or because they’re in their 30s and not married, it doesn’t mean that they’re worth any less than the next person.
The wonderful thing about putting your confidence in Christ is that it’s contagious. In Christ, you are a new creation and you don’t even have to open your mouth for perfect strangers to notice that there’s something different about you. You don’t have to say a single word for people to wonder why you’re smiling so much or where your confidence comes from. This is the power of God and His Spirit working in us through Jesus Christ!
So remember this the next time you encounter someone, whether it be a co-worker or the guy making your coffee at Starbucks. That right there is a moment to show what it means to have Jesus Christ completely transform your life. You never know what the people you interact with are going through. Your smile or kind words to them just might be the one thing that reminds them that they are not just a number. Telling them to have a “blessed day” just might remind them that they are blessed because, even though they forget sometimes, God still loves them. Take advantage of these opportunities daily. Your confidence in Christ isn’t just for you to keep to yourself. Share it with others. Let it spread like a fire in your community and in this world.
