I have stood guilty one too many times of allowing myself to live through seasons that served as nothing but a roadblock in the way I see myself and ultimately my relationship with God.
Truth #1: God created us to bear His image to the world through being imitators of His love.
Truth #2: The skewed vision I took on for myself resulted in distancing myself from my greater, God-instilled purpose.
We know we don’t need to be approved by the world. We know how false the myths of beauty and self-acceptance are. We know we don’t need to compress ourselves into an imitation of what everyone else is doing, hoping to fit in. We already fit in where we belong – in the palm of our Creator. So why do the lies of the enemy dominate the truth of our God so very often?
Ladies, our hearts need a revival and to be washed clean of the lies we have filled them with. In order to be imitators of God’s love for His people, we have to learn how to love ourselves fully.
Truth #3: When God breathed life into your bones, He also paved a special way to the Kingdom for you. There are currently 7.4 billion people in the world, with babies entering it literally every second, and God took the time to make a uniquely creative way for the one and only you. He has dressed you with the clothing of salvation and draped you in a robe of righteousness (Isaiah 61:19). What a beautiful depiction of how God sees us!
There is no other you. Hear me, friends: Do not allow the beauty of your being to become touched by the unattainable and false reality of perfection Satan constantly tries to skew your vision with. Grab this false lens and crush its self-destructive lies to shambles. Accept the vision that God created you to not only love yourself with, but to love His people with too. Only then will you be able to fulfill your role well.
Don’t follow the masses. Set the example.
