Reread Romans 12:2
Why is the thought of being “different” so scary?
When we choose to commit ourselves to Christ, we can’t help but to change and transform in ways that we may never have before.
This is why we find such joy and happiness in Christ’s love, because it is the only thing that has the power to change not only us, but any situation that we could ever face.
So why are Christians called to be different?
Because we are different. When Christ died on the cross, He took our sinful nature and transformed it into life everlasting. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us of this:
“you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
God placed our hearts in His hands and literally set us a part from the rest of the world. His expectations for us are higher because of the gift that He has given to us. Being bold for Christ doesn’t always mean being popular. It doesn’t always mean being chosen, or included. But it does mean having the approval of our Heavenly Father.
