Be the kind of woman who is confident in who she is in Christ before she enters a relationship. Even if you’re already in a relationship, it’s never too late to take a moment and really look at where your confidence and security lies within that relationship.
There’s a big difference between being confident in your ability to draw the attention from a guy and get him to date you and being confident in God’s ability to write your love story. Let your confidence be in the latter, for it is far more rewarding. The reason why it is so important to know the difference between these two kinds of confidence is because there seems to be a misconception out there that in order to get a guy’s attention, you need to exude a certain amount of self-confidence.
Yes, it’s true that if you walk a certain way, dress a certain way, and post certain kinds of pictures of yourself online that you’ll likely attract a number of guys. However, is that really the goal? Is the goal to just attract any kind of guy? Most likely, if you desire a Godly intentional relationship, you don’t just want any guy, so therefore, you don’t have to do anything in order to build a relationship with the man who might become your future husband.
So, don’t worry so much about: “does my hair look okay? Does he like my personality? Am I the kind of girl he’s looking for?” Instead, focus on being rooted and grounded in the things of the Lord. Focus on your relationship with the Lord and let that be the source of your confidence. And if a Godly intentional relationship is what you desire, spend time developing relationships at your local church, singles group, or in your community with people who have the same focus!
