I love watching the seasons of nature come and go throughout the year. Some seasons seem really fruitful, full of pretty flowers and birds. Whilst others, although still beautiful, seem bare. The bible talks very clearly about seasons and how there is a time for everything, every season under the sun. This concept of seasons include every aspect of our lives; our career, our faith and our relationships.
As in nature, every season has a purpose, maybe to grow, maybe to store, maybe to blossom and show great beauty. We can learn so much about nature and ecology through the seasons of nature and the same is true in our own life. We learn new things in new seasons. We must be ready to embrace every season that comes our way and learn everything we possibly can about our creator God.
Singleness is a season. Our desire may be for a different season, but we must embrace the season of singleness, learn about God, ourselves, and our ministry. The season of singleness can bring so much to our lives. It gives us more time for God, a chance to go deeper in Him, a chance to build and grow solid relationships with other women of God, and a fabulous opportunity to pursue ministry without distractions. Paul found a great benefit to singleness. In 1 Corinthians, he wrote that he wished everyone was single like him as it gave him more time and freedom to serve the Lord!
When we are content in our season, happy being sold out for God right where we are, amazing things will happen. When our focus is on Him, and we trust in His timing, we will start to receive the desires of our hearts.
There is a phrase I love that says “Whilst waiting for the door to open, praise Him in the hallway!” Well today sister I would like to say, “Whilst waiting for the door to open, be content and effective, praising Him in the hallway!”
Your sister in Christ,
