Day 9: “There is something special about the single season… I’m so content…I’m waiting for God’s best”
“There is something special about the single season… I’m so content…I’m waiting for God’s best”. I am quite sure you have heard these things or even said them yourself. Well, they are all true. The single season is special. God can have it last a couple of months, years, or a lifetime. God does guarantee a life worth living in which He fulfills every need and desire of ours, as long as it lines up with His plan. So, during this time, whether God has told you will get married or you don’t know yet, serve wholeheartedly. Serve unto the Lord. Take this time to develop your spirit, travel, make new godly friends, take a cooking class, go back to school, or get more involved in church. Because you are single, you are able to do things, and devote your time better than someone that is married.
And yes, I am single. So, I know ‘le struggle”. This time can be a struggle, if we allow it to be.. We can allow family and friends to dictate the way we should feel about being single, as if once we are in a relationship, we have arrived to the “promised land.” Be confident in your singleness. Be proud and honored that God is using you for such a time as this. Enjoy this season as much as you can. Please know God is preparing you for His best, so take your eyes off yourself, and place them back on Him! During this time of singleness we should be focused on becoming the best woman for God we can be. Our identity is found in God, not our marital status. If you need to put this on a post-it to remind yourself, DO IT!
I pray you find lasting contentment in God, and wake up every day seeking His face!
