In your heart, you may know full well that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. However, sometimes, different circumstances in life can get to your head and make it difficult to embrace what that truly means. Often times, it’s relationships and interactions with others that can cause you to feel this way.
Maybe you grew up in a family where your sister was more confident and outgoing than you, and in return, she received more compliments and approval from family members. Or perhaps you were interested in a guy at college, yet, he was interested in someone else, leaving you to wonder, “Is she prettier than me? Am I ever going to meet someone that finds me attractive?” No matter whose standard of beauty or success or worthiness you don’t meet, never allow this to take place of the beautiful truth that you—yes, you!—were created by the Creator of the universe.
You were created with a purpose that will never be determined by what other people think, or don’t think, about you. Not everyone is going to see all of the great things about you—and that’s okay. There is no one in the world able to get a stamp of approval from all the people they wish approved of them. Even the ones that seem to be well-liked and adored by many have someone in their life whose standard they don’t meet. The reason it’s so important to not get disenchanted when you don’t meet other people’s standards is because it can become an endless path that will never be mastered. Focus on meeting God’s standard and being pleasing in His sight. This is where you will truly begin to thrive. Let Him strengthen you so that you can truly embrace what it means to be fearfully and wonderfully made by Him!
