It does matters who you hang around. It does matter who you allow to encourage you. It does matter who you allow in your heart, in your space, and in your home. It matters because we need like-minded people to encourage us and to help us keep focused on Christ. Having godly friendships sharpens our spirit! Christ gifts us with friends who will pray for us, encourage us, challenges us, and keep it 100% real with us. These friendships should grow and become more deeply rooted in Christ. Whether you are married or single, you should have friends who do not seek to tear you down, but seek to help build you up, friends who come to your defense, but don’t baby you, and friends who show you that both truth and grace are amazing gifts. Also, use the word “friend” wisely; don’t throw it around. Everyone should not have that title. Ask Christ to speak to your heart about your friendships. He will remove who does not need to be there and provide the ones who need to stay. Be encouraged!
