May 3 – Stay the course! The journey was not promised to be easy, but, I promise it will be worth it!
I am so glad that when God created us, He also created a handbook for us to follow, the Bible. God has left us with instructions to follow in order to live a successful life in and through Him. When we begin to internalize God’s promises and his instructions to us, we begin to make his commandments our standards. When we give up wanting to do things in our own might , God’s purpose and plan for our lives can be revealed. As young adults, we are racing against a clock that does not exist: We must be married by this age, have children by this age, the perfect career at this stage, etc. When we do not hit these milestones at certain times in our lives, we feel as if we have failed ourselves and God. But can I share a secret with you? Our lives have been mapped out before the foundations of the Earth (Jeremiah 1:5).
God knew the twists and turns our lives would take. Therefore, He created ways for us to continue to stay in His will.
God wants His children to be happy, successful, and courageous in Him because that makes for excellent witnessing. However, we must never try to accomplish all of life’s tasks and never ending to-do list without Him. It is by and through Him that we have our being (Acts 17:28). Not by our own might nor strength but God (Zechariah 4:6). He has all power! He goes before us and opens up doors that we are able to walk through.
God promises to never leave us nor forsake us, but, we must have faith in Him to finish the good work he began in us. Stay the course! The journey was not promised to be easy, but, I promise it will be worth it!
