Regardless of the world says, beautiful, intentional relationships that are centered on Christ are 100% still possible.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Remember this even if:
- You have no idea how to be in a relationship
God’s grace is sufficient for you, even when it comes to overcoming the doubts and insecurities that plague people’s minds who desire a godly intentional relationship. God’s grace is not restricted by what the culture says about relationships. Because grace is Christ’s strength moving in on our weaknesses, we don’t have to believe the lies from the enemy that there is no hope because of all the negativity we see in the world about relationships! Even if all you’ve ever known is broken relationships, or if you’ve never been in one at all, God’s grace is stronger than the lies that “all the good guys are taken” and “men are no good.” God is transforming people’s lives daily and as someone who is married to a man of God who came to know Christ as an adult, know that God is so much greater than negative generalizations our culture makes about being in love and in a relationship that is centered on Jesus.
- You’re not sure where your relationship is going
Have you ever looked back over a situation and wondered how you made it through? That wasn’t coincidence. That was Christ’s power resting on you! Realize that Christ’s power has to rest on your relationship, too. This is the way to get through the many insecurities, doubts and temptations people face in when it comes to being seriously committed in their relationships. The answer is Jesus! Surround yourself with people who have Christ at the center of their relationships. Ask them to pray for you and with you, and ultimately, take all issues, whether they have to do with insecurity, doubt, faithfulness, commitment to Jesus. That’s where we find hope and it is in Him that healing and comfort is possible.
