The term “self-made” is one used to describe someone who has become successful by their own efforts. Our world is filled with people who have started their own successful companies or became multi-millionaires because they put in the hard work and made things happened on their own. While it may be inspiring to hear a good, hard work story, we have to remember that no one is truly “self-made.” At some point and time, everyone received some help along the way.
As followers of Jesus, the help that we get along the way is our Heavenly Father who guides us in every step of the way. Even though you were the one to go out and seek a job, go in for an interview, and be offered the position, God was still the One working it all out. Behind the scenes and even through the night when you’re fast asleep, He is making provisions for you.
So give Him the credit! He has been there all along. If you struggle doing this, remember that giving God the credit takes humility, and God honors and blesses those who are humble and don’t let pride get in the way!
