Ecclesiastes includes the words of King Solomon, the son of King David. From the beginning of the book, Solomon uses a very human-like tone and speaks of wisdom, obedience, and vowing to God in a way that is real and relatable. As believers, when we read the Bible, we have to remember that God used real people to write His Word– real people that went through real things. They are so much more than bible characters and words on pages. These are real people who went through real things. I say all this to say, when you are going through real things and you’re wondering or worrying about real things in your future, don’t forget about the very real Word of God. Even when it comes to relationships and future spouses. Don’t forget that the bible isn’t just a book of quotes. The word of God is alive and it makes a difference in our lives. As the Hebrew writer says in Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Read God’s word day and night, and the closer you get to Him, the more you will begin to have relationships with those who are doing the same thing–and not just in a romantic sense! But remember this when it comes to guys at church, at work, or school, or even guys you meet randomly. Sometimes it can be distracting if there is an eligible good Christian guy in your life and you’re trying to figure out:
A, why is he still single?
B, who does he want to be in a relationship with?
C, is he the kind of man God wants me to marry?
You don’t have to have these questions answered to shift your focus to the Lord right now. Let God set the time and place for your future to happen, and focus on loving Him and living for Him in the presen
