Wait on the one who was holding on to Jesus before he held onto you.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. – Colossians 1:17
Wouldn’t it be nice to know that when it came to:
1…the guy that who was sending you those texts, that he wasn’t just in it for the game of it or out of boredom, but he actually meant the words he said?
2…that one guy who told you that he “wanted to get to know you more,” that he wasn’t just suggesting you talk for weeks, month, and years, without making his intentions known to you?
3…that the one guy who seemed to notice something special about you actually meant it when he said: there’s something different about you?
4…that one guy at work, school, or church that you caught looking your way, really did think you were worth pursuing, and that he wasn’t just flirting without intention?
5…all the waiting, all the worry, all the hurt and insecurities you had to overcome that is was all worth it?
Yes, it would be nice. But I want to encourage you that even if all you’re waiting for is a text, or a “can I take you out to dinner?” this whole love thing goes so much deeper. If you desire be in a relationship that actually means something, and you’re waiting for the one who won’t take hold of your heart only to break it later, know that the only place you’ll find that relationship that won’t fail is with Jesus. Let Him be the one who holds you together, and wait for the guy who is doing the same.
This is so important because when a guy lives his life for Christ, he doesn’t just do things just because. He doesn’t just try to be with you just so he can be with someone. He does what he does with intention..even when it comes to the kind of texts he sends. As women who follow Christ we must know our worth in Christ, and guys must know too!
If you’re single, take this time in your life to be serious about learning to be satisfied in Jesus, because when you do, the kind of man who made this same decision will see that in you and you will see that in him. It’s worth it to wait for that, and it’s also worth it to pray that more will see their worth in Christ!
